It took the singular beauty of the Hudson Valley to cause Postmodern Gypsy John Bridges to stay put.  This proud citizen of the New Paltz Nation was born in Beeville, Texas, and has lived in Pennsylvania, California, Belgium, Iowa, Korea, Colorado, and Washington DC. He first visited New Paltz in 1996 with his future wife, townie Amy Raff, and was so taken by the Town/Village, and its charming people that the moved year here less than a year later.

Since then Bridges has established himself a major talent in the local art scene, taking area gallery goers from as far a field as Phoenicia, Woodstock, Highland, Gardner,and Poughkeepsie on a dizzying ride through uniqueterrain.  Bridges has recently redirected the focus of his Apollonian glare towards the Internet: his blog, "The Johnny Sutra" addresses Art, Kulture, Politics, and yes, even Fashion.  

 He hopes the observations of a “relative newcomer (not from New York City) " will be an entertaining addition to the New Paltz Nation.
